Overview
VIVZ Fashion is the brainchild of Vivek Pawar and Arti Rai. It is literally and figuratively a one-stop-destination for all things fashionable.
No surprise there! Considering Pawar and Rai, the creators of Vivz Fashion, are no strangers to the world haute couture or event management. Try this out for size: if the charismatic and articulate Pawar is the face and heart of this collaboration, then the soft-spoken and unassuming Rai is definitely its brain and spine.
The well-travelled Pawar, who is an International Certified Advance Train the Trainer, brings to the table a dozen-odd years of experience of having romanced the camera first as the flag bearer of the prestigious Grasim Mr. India title and later as a much sought-after face that launched a thousand brands and lit up the fashion runways as he walked for high priests and priestesses of haute couture as their showstopper.
So, it was no surprise then that he would want to pass on his knowledge to the millennials. However, his mentees are not just the teens or tweens but children between the ages of five and 15. He believes that helping them walk the runways is a great opportunity to help them build their confidence and step out on their own.
On the other hand, the soft-spoken Rai who believes in letting her work speak for her has discreetly ruled the world of events with her innovation, classy presentations and ethics that are legendary. Together, Pawar and Rai added that much-desired patina of glitz and glamour to the nascent world high fashion events. To say say that the partners are a force to be reckoned with wouldn’t be an incorrect assumption. Not for them the prosaic or the trite.
Perhaps that is why early on in their partnership, they decided to take their act to new levels and broke into a hitherto unexplored world of international kids’ fashion. They helped create heady champagne moments with glitzy events that were much appreciated at the global level. Case in point the Milano Fashion Week, London World Fashion Week by Vivz, VIVZ World Fashion Week, Dubai, International Kids Fashion Runway to name just a few.
Post their resounding success on the international fashion runways, the well-heeled team decided to launch the next phase of their plan: to set up a fashion institute that would not only be a cut above the rest but would also raise the bar for an ever-evolving industry.
Whether it is teaching how to walk the talk on the fashion runways as models or picking up the rudiments of fashion designing or help them fine hone their acting prowess—age no bar!— or instruct the children how to showcase their talent on the international runways of the Kids’ Fashion Show, helping young designers-in-the-making find worthy homes as interns or full-fledged designers with fashion houses or score gigs as stylists, makeup artists and choreographers, backstage managers or wardrobe assistants at fashion events across the globe or feature their aspiring models and designers in their in-house magazine, VIVZ Fashion.
The latest feather in their already embellished hat is the fact that the duo has recently signed up with the Staffordshire University London for their fashion designing course. Interestingly, the affiliation will see an international visiting faculty bring to their students a global understanding of the world of fashion as well as inject an international aesthetic to their syllabus.
Together, the well-heeled partners represent a young, brave and bold India that has no intentions of hiding their light under a bushel. For the duo, the world is their runway, literally, where Pawar and Rai have no qualms of turning the strobe lights on their protégés as they stride to the head ramp with grace and the couple’s signature chutzpah.
